Traditional Worship

Traditional Worship at First United Methodist occurs at 11 am each Sunday. The liturgy follows the Basic Order of Sunday Worship  for Methodists and includes congregational singing accompanied by a pipe organ, the reading of Holy Scripture, preaching, corporate prayers, anthems by a chancel choir,  a recitation of what we believe,  a children's sermon and  on the first Sunday of the month, Holy Communion.

The focal point of the  lovely sanctuary is a grand,  nineteenth century stain- glass window depicting women visiting the tomb of Christ on Easter morn.  This exquisite artwork testifies to the Glory of God and  is an example of First United Methodists' Church commitment to the arts , both visual and musical, as a means of worshiping God.
