Hop 1st UMC Youth

Our youth gather most Wednesday nights throughout the year as part of our church’s Wednesday Night Life. We start at 6:30 PM with a brief time of worship, followed by a fun group game. Afterward, we dive into a meaningful lesson and close with a short prayer, finishing by 7:30 PM.

In addition to our weekly meetings, we host a variety of special events which often take place on Saturdays or Sunday nights. Including worship nights, guest speakers, game nights, parties, and fun outings to places like Sound Waves Water Park, the City Forum and Top Golf Nashville. Our outreach efforts include partnering with other area churches for "Be the Church," a semi-annual mission event in Nashville, TN, where we serve the homeless community with seasonal supplies during both the "winter outreach" in the fall and the "summer outreach" in the spring. Locally, we engage in mission work throughout Hopkinsville year-round, supporting programs like Feeding America and participating in activities at the Micah Mission Center.

Our youth also participate in inspiring retreats and conferences throughout the year. Twice annually, we attend retreats at Camp Loucon—a fall retreat with other local Methodist churches and the Engage Retreat in the spring. We are involved in Winter Blitz, a youth conference organized by the UMC Kentucky Conference for middle and high school students. For students in grades 10-12, we encourage participation in the Madisonville Chrysalis, a spiritual renewal weekend held twice a year in November and March. And each summer, we embark on a larger trip to attend Fun in the Son, a Youth Conference Ministries event held at Epworth by the Sea on St. Simons Island, GA.

We’d love to welcome your middle and high school students to join us for these meaningful and exciting opportunities!
